As the 2025 legislative session ends, we’re filled with gratitude — for the trust of our constituents, the support of our families and communities, and the opportunity to serve this great state. This work is hard, but it’s an honor.
What follows is a glimpse into what this session meant to each of us: the challenges we faced, the convictions we stood on, and the lessons we’ll carry forward. Some of us are new to the Capitol, others more seasoned, but we’re united by a common purpose: to serve with integrity, uphold the Constitution, and fight for Idaho’s future.
Sen. Christy Zito, District 8
This session stretched me in every way, and I’m deeply grateful for those who stood by me through it all. I’m a passionate and driven person, and I’m thankful for the friends, neighbors, and prayer warriors who offered grace, encouragement and help when I needed it most. God’s love has sustained me, and so has the kindness of those who surrounded me with support. I may not have all the right words, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you. It’s a privilege to serve, and I carry that responsibility with humility, gratitude, and a deep desire to honor the people who’ve entrusted me with their voices.
Rep. Faye Thompson, District 8
This session was historic, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. I’m proud of the work we accomplished, from DEI reform to medical freedom to holding the line on bad budgets. As part of the Gang of 8, we stood firm on conservative principles and never wavered. It’s been an exhausting but remarkable experience, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve.
Rep. Lucas Cayler, District 11
Serving in the Idaho House this session has been one of my life's most meaningful and thought-provoking experiences. I especially valued the daily challenge of weighing legislation — asking whether it upheld liberty, considering unintended consequences, and viewing each bill from multiple perspectives. I came to see how differently people define “conservative,” particularly when it comes to spending and the role of government. Through it all, I stayed grounded in my commitment to limited government and personal freedom. I’m especially proud of the Medical Freedom Act, a landmark law that protects every Idahoan’s right to make their own medical decisions. I’m grateful for the thoughtful debates, the relationships built, and the trust the people of Caldwell placed in me.
Rep. Kent Marmon, District 11
It was an honor to serve in the first session of the 68th Legislature alongside a great group of dedicated conservatives. We built strong alliances, shared ideas, and worked together daily to advance good policy for the people of Idaho. I’m proud of what we accomplished and excited to return next session, ready to do even more. The future is bright when we work together with purpose and conviction.
Sen. Glenneda Zuiderveld, District 24
As this session ends, I have no regrets. Disappointments, yes, but I stayed the course and cast every vote, just as I have every year since I began serving. Sitting beneath the words “IN GOD WE TRUST,” I’m reminded that it’s my trust in Him that has guided every decision.
I’ve learned that while every legislator believes they’re doing what’s best, many still look to government to fix what only God can heal. Laws are necessary to prevent chaos, but the deeper issues we face are matters of the heart — and only the Creator, the Alpha and Omega, can truly restore what’s broken.
My hope for Idaho is anchored in that truth, and I’ll keep showing up, trusting God, and serving His people with that hope in my heart.
Rep. Clint Hostetler, District 24
My first session is in the books, and it was a good one. I’m grateful for the chance to follow through on the promises I made to the people of my district: to steward their tax dollars wisely, defend Idaho’s children and families, and stand firm against illegal immigration and the overreach of government. These weren’t just campaign promises; they were convictions I carried with me every day on the House floor. I met incredible people, built lasting friendships, and learned more than I imagined. I’m especially thankful for my crew — the Gang of 8+1 — who walked with me, carried me when needed, and never backed down. And to everyone who prayed and stood with us through the noise and opposition, thank you. We’ll keep our eyes on Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, and stay faithful to the work still ahead.
Sen. Josh Kohl, District 25
As the dust settles on the 2025 session, I’m grateful for the real progress we made. School choice finally passed. We delivered historic tax relief. We stood firm against DEI and protected medical freedom, a deeply personal issue that first brought me into politics. We also stopped some truly bad bills and rejected bloated budgets. The work isn’t done. This summer, I’ll be focused on securing our water future, cutting wasteful mandates, and advancing pro-life protections. It’s an honor to serve the people of Twin Falls, and I look forward to hearing from you and continuing the fight for a better Idaho.
Rep. David Leavitt, District 25
My first legislative session was both humbling and energizing. I came to the Capitol with a mission to serve my constituents with integrity, hold the line on spending, and push back against government overreach, and I’m proud of what we accomplished. We delivered tax relief, advanced school choice, and passed the Medical Freedom Act to protect individual rights. I’m grateful to be part of the Gang of 8, where I found not just allies but friends committed to principle over politics. I’ve learned a lot, and I’m even more committed to the work ahead for Idaho.
A Resurrection Hope
As we celebrate Easter, we remember the only victory that truly matters — the victory of a loving Savior who gave His life so we could live. It is Him we serve. His sacrificial love, undeserved grace, and unshakable truth call us higher in every area of life, even in the rough world of politics.
This work can divide and exhaust, but Hebrews 12 warns us not to let a root of bitterness take hold. By God’s grace, we fight to keep our hearts soft, our focus eternal, and our service faithful.
We’re not perfect, but we press on. Not for power or applause but to honor the One who bore our sins and still calls us to walk humbly, speak truth, and love well.
From all of us in the Gang of 8: thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and trust. May the hope of the resurrection give you peace and purpose this season, and may we all be found faithful in the work He’s set before us.
“He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He told you…” (Luke 24:6)

Please help us ban the cloud seeding program in Idaho!
Even if you do not live here you can help us achieve our goal!
Idaho Power uses this program to disperse silver iodide, potassium iodide and now liquid propane into the air via aircraft or ground-based generators places among several basins throughout our state!
There has been no long term research that the chemicals used are not harmful and when looking at silver iodide on its own, it is known as a toxic chemical.
They claim to use so little it is harmless, however if it is used several times a week for half of the year for 20 years straight, there’s no saying the long term affects on our air, water, soil, wildlife, plants, food, livestock and most importantly ourselves and our children.
Silver iodide is especially known to be toxic to aquatic life. So there is also no telling how harmful it is to all of our lakes and rivers and the many different fish we eat from them.

Thank you for the personal reflections on the last session. I heard from some of you through Idaho Signal and learned about your passion and your personality. It is nice to put a face to the name as I watch legislation being presented and debated. May your gang of 8 and the Idaho Freedom Caucus continue to fight for truth, liberty, and righteousness.
