Prop 1 Ranked Choice Voting
Ranked Choice Voting was almost tied with the Second Amendment as a “most important issue” for Idahoans.
Proposition 1 will be on our ballot in November. Proposition one is the “Open Primary Initiative” that will implement jungle primaries and Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) or what I like to call Rigged Choice Voting.
I previously discussed the dangers of Rigged Choice Voting. Review it here if you haven’t already read it.

Let’s investigate further the deception surrounding Rigged Choice Voting in Idaho.
The organization that pushed for the initiative deceived the voters when they were gathering signatures. When gathering signatures from Idaho voters, the organizers pitched “Open Primaries.” This statement is untrue; this initiative is to implement a “Top-Four Primary.” folks were told that this primary system would allow everyone to vote on who would be on the ballot in November.
Signers of the petition were told they could participate in the party primary of their choice without affiliation to that party. However, this ballot initiative wouldn’t open the primary nominating process, as all nominees will go on the same ballot no matter which party they choose to represent, if any, and the top four will advance to the November election. For example, there could be four democrats, four republicans, three democrats and one republican, three republicans and one democrat, or any combination. This type of voting system will create a California-style jungle primary system.
In addition to this convoluted disaster, we will be in a Ranked-Choice Voting system when voters go to the polls in the November general elections. In this system, voters will no longer be voting for one person they choose to represent them; they will be forced to rank all of the candidates in order of preference. This means that you must vote for someone you do not like or that you do not want to represent you or risk your ballot being thrown out if there is a runoff for that race.
Secretary of State Phil McGrane wrote a letter in early July stating the increased tax burden to the people of Idaho if this initiative passes. He stated that buying the equipment to implement RCV could cost $40 million. He went further to say election results would be delayed if this passed and became law. It is interesting that Reclaim Idaho said that they have software that the state could use to tabulate the votes. I would not trust that for a hot minute.
Read McGrane’s letter here:
Alaska passed RCV and recently saw a 328% increase in the cost of their elections. RCV is terrible for integrity in elections, and the cost to switch over is outrageous.

Proposition 1 will:
-Cause deception and lack of integrity in elections
-Cause delayed election results
-Cost $40 Million to implement just for the voting machines
-“Alaska saw 328% increase”
-Lower voter turnout
-Increase ballot spoilage, causing “your vote to not be counted and thrown out.”
-Make Idaho more like California and New York
Proposition 1 will open the floodgates for radical left-wing lawmakers to take over and execute their leftist Marxist agenda.
Congressman Fulcher, Congressman Simpson, Senator Crapo, and Senator Risch have all come out opposing Ranked Choice Voting and the “Top-Four Primary in Idaho; still, radical democrats and many old guard Republicans who supported and voted for the closed primary system we now enjoy in Idaho, are now pushing and supporting RCV and this insane primary system. They are hoping the deception works for Idaho voters in November. It’s our job to inform Idahoans of the realities of this dangerous proposition.
We must VOTE NO for Prop 1, “Open Primaries/ Rigged Choice Voting,” this November.
Join me in the effort to stop RCV. Our future and our Constitutional rights hang in the balance!
God Bless,
Christy Zito
Republican Nominee, District 8 Senate
Thank you CZ! The Idaho deep state(that were overwhelmingly voted out!)still exists in small pockets in high places. It’s only those like you that’s made Idaho one of the freest states in the Republic. Except when it’s Covid mandates and water/land grabs by Governor $pineless.
You’re a star💥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you, Christy, for explaining again why it's so important for Idaho voters to VOTE NO on Proposition 1. All the lipstick 💋 in the world cannot pretty up this pig 🐽 of a proposition.
Sadly, the Idaho Supreme Court dismissed AG Labrador’s Lawsuit Against Prop 1 on procedural grounds (https://idahodispatch.com/idaho-supreme-court-dismisses-ags-lawsuit-against-prop-1-on-procedural-grounds/). So it's gonna be on the ballot and probably cannot be challenged in court unless it passes.
